Stiff Legged Deadlift – Done The Right Way!

All too often we see people not doing this basic exercise the right way. We either see them bringing the bar straight up and down 6″ from their shins in a vertical line, never touching the floor (more about this at the bottom of this page). In this video, Jonnie Candito, one of the strongest drug free pound for pound Collegiate athletes, shows us how to do this essential movement the right way, scorching the hamstrings from both ends.

This says we should do stiff leg dead lifts, but your article on dead lifts says we should completely avoid them. Which one do we believe? Its made me lose faith in this site.

@Spike: thanks for pointing this out. When I wrote that article I really leaned towards not even advocating this exercise as most people don’t do it properly and as such is a bad choice. I’ve updated the other article, being a bit more specific as to my reasons, with some examples. Thanks for reading.

@ Trebz – thanks. I searched for the original video but found that he must have updated it with this one, which basically covers what he did in the original.
